Short description

In 2 B.5 emissions of NMVOC, CO, PCDD/F, SO2, PM2.5, PM10 and TSP are reported. Emission sources are the production of organic chemicals, of titan dioxide, of sulphuric acid, of carbon black and of fertilizers.

For the titanium dioxide production the producers report the sum of all SO2-emissions. The emissions are confidential and are reported together with the SO2-emissions of sulphuric acid production.
The figure for carbon black production in the new German Länder in 1990 was taken from the Statistical Yearbook (Statistisches Jahrbuch) for the Federal Republic of Germany (DESTATIS, 1992: p. 234); the figures for 1991 and 1992 were estimated, due to confidentiality requirements. The other data for carbon-black production as of 1990 were obtained from the Federal Statistical Office (DESTATIS, Fachserie 4, Reihe 3.1, Produzierendes Gewerbe, Produktion im Produzierenden Gewerbe ("manufacturing industry; production in the manufacturing industry"). The reasons for the production fluctuations during the period under consideration are unknown. According to the Federal Statistical Office, the increase of about 100 % in carbon-black production, with respect to the corresponding figure in 1990, is the result of the appearance of a new producer.
For ethylene dichlorid Germany reports the emissions of PCDD/F. The emission factor is 0,036µg/t.
